“…One literature review claims that the offspring of Nazi Holocaust survivors are more vulnerable to post-traumatic stress disorder, have deficiencies in coping with stress, and have difficulties in separation-individuation (Kellerman 2001). In China, the psychotraumatic consequences of the civil war (1927–1945), the Second Sino-Japanese War (1937–1945), the Cultural Revolution, the transition from a feudal to a semifeudal society, and the history of colonization include the death, destruction, and displacement of millions of people whose traumatic experiences have been transmitted from one generation to succeeding generations, both individually and in collective memory (Plänkers 2011, 2018). Psychodynamic treatment provides one way to discuss traumatic experiences and to help patients work through their unconscious conflicts.…”
