The crystal structure of triethylenediamine-nickel(II)nitrate, Ni(NH2CH2CH2NH2)3(NO3)2

Abstract

The configuration of the Ni(en) ring is a gauche-gauche-gauche type with the azimuthal angles of 46 ° and 56 °. Considerable distortion of the octahedral coordination in [Ni(en)3] ++ is observed. The N-O distance in NO~-is 1.21 2~. The optical properties and the infra-red spectrum of the compound are also discussed.
