The Crystal Structure of [4R,7S]-7-Isopropyl-4-methyl-2-azepanone [(−)-Menthone Lactam]

Abstract

The conformation of the title compound was determined by X-ray crystal analysis. The seven-membered lactam ring is in a quasi-chair conformation with the amide chromophore being approximately coplanar.
