“…The fitted value of the creep stress exponent ( n ) was 4.4, which suggested the steady creep stage of the experimental alloy at 250 °C under 50–80 MPa was dominated by the dislocation climb mechanism. [ 5,24,25 ] To further reveal the mechanism of creep deformation, TEM characterization was used to examine the dislocation configurations in the specimen crept for 40 h at 250 °C under 80 MPa. Figure shows the TEM bright field with the incident electron beam approximately parallel to the [ 2true1¯true1¯0 ] zone axis.…”

“…According to the above results in this paper, the addition of the whiskers can greatly improve the creep resistance of the composite but do not fully explain the abnormally low creep rate of the composite compared to the matrix ( Figure 2 ). The existence of rigid reinforcement undertook most of the applied load, which made the creep resistance of the composite increase [ 32 , 33 ]. The load-transfer mechanism can now be examined for this phenomenon.…”

“…Consequently, in the last decade, scientists have been searching options to improve the creep resistance of Mg using alloying with non‐RE elements and with the development of composites reinforced by ceramic particles such as SiC. [ 15,20 ]…”
