Abstract:Female adolescents who experience anxiety will have an increase in prostaglandin synthesis accompanied by decreased levels of estrogen or progesterone, causing uterine muscle contractions, uterine blood flow, uterine ischemia resulting in dysmenorrhea. The prevalence of dysmenorrhoea varies between 15.8% - 89.5%, with the highest prevalence in adolescents, this shows that adolescents are very vulnerable to anxiety which will lead to the incidence of dysmenorrhoea.
