The paper presents a new scientifically based approach for the selection of sand control technology, which is dedicated to enhance the efficiency of the development of unconsolidated reservoirs. Established laboratory and methodological complexes for physical simulating of the sand producing process were analyzed in order to obtain new knowledge and confirm the available theories. All of them have their advantages and disadvantages, but their simultaneous application revealed characteristic dependencies between the sand production and the studied parameter (grain size distribution, pressure drop, clay content, water cut, gas/oil ratio, etc.). Author proposed concepts of mathematical apparatus improvement to increase the quality of assessing the ability of formation fluids to transport particles of different grain size distribution within the formation, as well as in the inner part of tubing. The effect of each of the characterizing factors on suspended solids concertation (SSC) was studied as a result of more than 300 laboratory experiments. According to the observation, there is a sharp decrease in SSC after the first stage (sampling). Thus, the author determined that the main inflow of mechanical impurities occurs during flow stimulation and after shutdowns. In conclusion, author substantiated the method for limiting sand production using polymers with shape memory based on the results of the performed set of tests. Proposed method allows limited passage of particles with diameter less than 50 µm, which creates conditions for noncolmaticity of screen while maintaining geomechanical stability of bottom-hole formation zone.

Oil-water emulsion causes a wide range of problems, one of which is the emergence of significant decreases in pressure in flow lines resulting in higher pumping and transportation costs. The most widely developed trend among oil/water separation technologies is using demulsifiers based on magnetic nanoparticles (MNPs). MNPs have specific chemical and mechanical properties, providing unique opportunities to solve oil production issues. The key features of such magnetic nanoparticles for their sustainable application are their reusability and stability; the opportunity of remote manipulation using external magnetic fields gives them a singular benefit in transport operations. The main objective of the study is the systematization of MNPs researches for effective oil and water emulsion separation. This review provides MNP demulsifier characteristics, Oil-water emulsions (OWE) separation mechanism, and factors influencing oil-water emulsions efficiency disruption by MNP demulsifier. The relevance of this study is that oil-water emulsions are often encountered in practice during field development. To solve this problem, the use of demulsifiers based on magnetic nanoparticles is proposed. The novelty of the work lies in the fact that the work collects several factors affecting demulsification at once and describes the impact of each factor. Among these factors, the most influential are: emulsion characteristics, water salinity, pH, reservoir temperature, addition of chemical surfactants, time and magnetic field. The mechanism of formation of oil-water emulsions of various types is also described, and negative consequences of emulsion formation are discussed. The results showed that the magnetic nanoparticles need a protective layer and the demulsifier should have good wettability by the continuous phase of the emulsion.

The problem of air pollution is one of the most serious global problems of humanity. The danger of air pollution is not only that harmful substances that are detrimental to living organisms enter clean air, but also in the pollution-induced climate change of the Earth. Air pollution from human activities has led to an almost 30 per cent increase in carbon dioxide concentrations over the past 200 years. Nevertheless, mankind continues to actively burn fossil fuels and destroy forests. The process is so widespread that it leads to global environmental problems. Air pollution also occurs from other human activities. Combustion of fuel in thermal power plants is accompanied by the emission of sulfur dioxide. Nitrogen oxides enter the atmosphere with the exhaust gases of cars. Carbon monoxide is formed during the incomplete combustion of fuel. Besides, it is worth noting the fine solid pollutants, such as soot and dust. Most industrial emissions into the atmosphere have a harmful effect on vegetation. The main industrial gases are arranged in the following order according to the degree of decrease in their toxicity: fluorine, chlorine, sulfurous anhydride, nitrogen oxides, and ammonia. However, the extent of the lesion is determined not only by the toxicity of substances, but also by their emissions. The presence of pollutants in the atmosphere generally has a detrimental effect on plants, and this effect is noticeable at much lower concentrations than that of animals.
