The complete mitochondrial genome of Diploprion bifasciatum (Perciformes, Serranidae)

Abstract: The complete mitochondrial genome (mitogenome) of Diploprion bifasciatum was first determined. The mitogenome was 16,805 bp in length and contained 13 protein-coding genes, 24 tRNAs, 2 rRNA, and 2 non-coding regions. The overall base composition of the mitogenome was estimated to be T 25.72%, G 17.10%, A 28.24%, and C 28.94%, with a slight A + T bias of 53.96%, indicating an obvious anti-G bias commonly observed invertebrates. It shared 78.9%, 78.7%, 76.8%, and 72.5% identities with that of Grammistes sexlinea… Show more

“…Pairwise genetic distances among various taxonomic levels within the Serranidae family were calculated using the Kimura 2-parameter (K2P) method within MEGA X. For the phylogenetic analysis, excluding Cephalopholis species, 16 mitogenomes from representative species across four tribes of the subfamily Epinephelinae (Epinephelini, Diploprionini, Grammistini, and Liopropomini) were retrieved from GenBank [6,41,46,[92][93][94] (Table S1). Anthias nicholsi (OP056908) from the subfamily Anthiinae and Serranus papilionaceus (OK054500) from the subfamily Serraninae were designated as outgroup taxa [94,95].…”
