“…Methanolic extracts of E. platyloba showed promising anticancer activities on various cancer cell lines, including prostate adenocarcinoma, fibrosarcoma, breast cancer, and leukemia cell lines [ 12 , 101 , 102 , 103 ]. The methanolic extract from aerial parts of E. platyloba decreased cell viability and induced apoptotic cell death in malignant prostate adenocarcinoma (PC 3) cell line with IC 50 values of 236.136 ± 12.4, 143.400 ± 7.2, and 69.383 ± 1.29 μg/mL after 24, 36, and 48 h, respectively, while it demonstrated no significant activity on non-malignant Human Umbilical Vein Endothelial Cells HUVEC cell line [ 12 ].…”

“…The extract decreased the viability and induced apoptotic cell death on MDA-MB-231 cells, with the highest activity being observed in a concentration of 534.6 ± 7.2 μg/mL after 24 h [ 102 ]. The methanol leaf extract of E. platyloba revealed an antimutagenic effect and significantly inhibited the proliferation of Acute Promyelocytic Leukemia cell line (NB4) with the highest activity of 87.35% at a concentration of 500 μg/mL after 24 h [ 103 ].…”

“…Moreover, antifungal properties effects of this extract at a concentration of 250 mg against dermatophytes Trichophyton verrucosum and Trichophyton schoenleinii is desirable and Trichophyton mentagrophytes , Microsporum canis , and Epidermophyton floccosum depending on the circumstances and how serious the infection is are usable,[ 40 41 42 43 44 45 46 47 48 ] and antifungal effects essence of the extract of this species on the fungus Candida tropicalis , Robrardoterolla , Rhodotorula mucilaginosa , C. albicans , Fusarium graminearum ,[ 49 50 ] and anticancer, antimutation, and apoptosis related to the extract on cancer cells of blood, lung, and prostate have been reported. [ 51 52 53 ] The effects of the extract on premenstrual syndrome (dysmenorrhea),[ 54 55 56 57 58 59 ] effects of the extract on reducing blood fat, liver, kidney protection, increasing the secretion of testosterone, and strengthening sexual activity, effective on pituitary-thyroid axis hormones,[ 60 61 62 ] central and peripheral analgesic effect of the extract,[ 63 ] healer's effect on wound healing,[ 64 ] and insecticidal properties of essential oil on Tribolium castaneum ( Herbst ), Callosobruchus maculatus , and Rhyzopertha dominica [ 65 ] have been established. Acute and chronic toxicity effects of the extract have been investigated by Mirghazanfari et al ., where the results show that Echinophora extract at a dose of 50–200 mg/kg is safe and a dose of 500 mg/kg of Wistar rats body weight is toxic.…”
