The CMS Muon System

Abstract: The Compact Muon Solenoid Muon system, designed to trigger and identify muons, is based on three different technologies; drift tube (DT) in the barrel region, cathode strip chamber (CSC) in the endcap and resistive plate chambers (RPC) in both the barrel and endcap.
