An increased number of cases in this age group, which is mostly the perimenopausal age, could be due to the fact that as women reach menopause, there is a decrease in the number of ovarian follicles along with increased resistance to gonadotrophic stimulation resulting in a low level of oestrogen which is an essential requirement for growth and maintenance of normal endometrium.…”
