Abstract:Catenanes and rotaxanes are a new class of functional organic molecules compose from mobile parts and designed for use in various types of practical applications. They can exhibit interesting third order nonlinear optical properties. In this paper we will present and discuss study of the rotational contributions to the cubic susceptibility as observed by polarization dependent degenerate four wave mixing experiments on solutions of selected catenanes and rotaxanes.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
