The chemistry CATT–BRAMS model (CCATT–BRAMS 4.5): a regional atmospheric model system for integrated air quality and weather forecasting and research

Abstract: The Coupled Chemistry Aerosol-Tracer Transport model to the Brazilian developments on the Regional Atmospheric Modeling System (CCATT–BRAMS, version 4.5) is an online regional chemical transport model designed for local and regional studies of atmospheric chemistry from surface to the lower stratosphere suitable both for operational and research purposes. It includes gaseous/aqueous chemistry, photochemistry, scavenging and dry deposition. The CCATT–BRAMS model takes advantages of the BRAMS specific dev… Show more

“…The study was conducted using the Chemistry-Coupled Aerosol and Tracers Transport model with the Brazilian developments on the Regional Atmospheric Modeling System (CCATT-BRAMS, Freitas et al, 2009;Longo et al, 2010Longo et al, , 2013 developed at the Brazilian National Institute for Space Research for regional studies of air quality impact on public health, weather forecasting and climate processes. The presented results focus on the simulation of the AOD of the regional smoke plume and the associated radiative flux perturbation (RFP) of the solar radiation at the surface.…”
