The Chemical and Products Database, a resource for exposure-relevant data on chemicals in consumer products

Abstract: Quantitative data on product chemical composition is a necessary parameter for characterizing near-field exposure. This data set comprises reported and predicted information on more than 75,000 chemicals and more than 15,000 consumer products. The data’s primary intended use is for exposure, risk, and safety assessments. The data set includes specific products with quantitative or qualitative ingredient information, which has been publicly disclosed through material safety data sheets (MSDS) and ingredient lis… Show more

“…To characterize chemical interference activity by substance type and use case, the Tox21 chemical library was classified using the consumer products database 45 , the Toxic Substances Control Act chemical list (TSCA), and approved drugs lists available in the EPA chemical dashboard (https://comptox.epa.gov/dashboard). Based on these resources, 4950 of the 8305 unique chemicals included in the Tox21 chemical library could be classified into 80 classes.…”

“…Because of requirements in coating products, the coatings industry has following the lead of other industrial sectors (such as pharmaceuticals), which have begun to develop high-flow systems that incorporate computer simulation [39,[42][43][44]. The development of laboratory equipment increases test speeds and thereby enables a higher number of measurements performed in a specific period.…”

“…The KEMI Market List on the NORMAN Suspect Exchange contains information and associated exposure indexes and hazard scores on 30,748 chemicals (version provided 3 July 2017; further details about these scores provided on the Suspect Exchange). The Chemicals and Products Database contains reported and predicted information on >75,000 chemicals contained in >15,000 consumer products (Dionisio et al, 2018) and is also available through the CompTox Chemistry Dashboard.…”
