The Characteristics of Greenhouse Gas Emissions from Heavy-Duty Trucks in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei (BTH) Region in China

Abstract: This paper aims to study the characteristics of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from heavy-duty trucks in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei (BTH) region, which is located in Northern China. The multiyear emissions of GHG (CO 2 , CH 4 and N 2 O) from heavy-duty trucks fueled by diesel and natural gas during the period of 2006-2015 were compared and analyzed. The results show that the GHG emissions from heavy-duty trucks increase with time, which is consistent with the trend of the population growth. The total amount of … Show more

“…In addition, the assessment of the CAP emissions intensity of NGVs in China should employ an emission factor method such as that used in Xing et al (2016) and Yao et al (2009). In this study, the CAPs include hydrocarbon compounds (HC), carbon monoxide (CO), nitrogen oxides (NO x ), sulphur dioxide (SO 2 ) and particulate matter (PM, PM 2.5 specifically).…”

“…In many countries, converting of off-road equipment to LNG is actively carried out. For example, 240 000 NGV travel across China, 5000 in the United States and 1500 in Europe [25,[36][37][38][39][40][41][42].…”

“…Due to the increase in the use of LNG as fuel for heavy-duty and mining trucks in China (approximately 4.6 billion cubic meters of natural gas in 2015), diesel fuel savings amounted to 16 million tons. As a result, this led to a reduction in exhaust gas emissions of 6 million tons of CO 2 equivalent [38,39,41,42]. SHACMAN introduced the new F3000 series tractor and off-road mining truck on LNG.…”
