The change in intraocular pressure after pupillary dilation in eyes with pseudoexfoliation glaucoma, primary open angle glaucoma, and eyes of normal subjects

Abstract: To evaluate the change in intraocular pressure (IOP) after pharmacologic dilation in eyes with primary open angle glaucoma (POAG), pseudoexfoliation glaucoma (PXG), and eyes of normal subjects. This cross-sectional study was conducted in a university hospital-based setting. Patients with PXG, POAG, and normal subjects were consecutively selected and included in the study. Of the 125 eyes of 125 subjects; 46 (25 female) had PXG, 42 (29 female) had POAG, and 37 (20 female) belonged to the control group. Pharmaco… Show more

“…Our model discovers that these two drugs may have a strong relationship with the abnormally increased intraocular pressure. This is highly consistent with medical literature [3,29,41,46] and clinician experience, which confirm that the two drugs can lead to adverse reactions like elevation of IOP and should be used with caution for specific patients in clinical practice.…”

“…However, such methods can not handle the samples in need with missing modalities and have limitations to be applied in rigid demand domains like healthcare. Besides, such methods dramatically reduce training data and result in over-fitting of deep learning models [9,45], especially when there are many modalities and many different missing combination patterns 3 .…”

“…Instillation of tropicamide was made before pre-dive measures, and so does not explain our results. Effects of tropicamide on IOP vary in literature [ 68 , 69 , 70 , 71 , 72 ].…”
