Abstract: is professor in Medi eval Archaeo logy in the Maritime Cultures Research Institute at the Vrije Universi teit Brussel. His research focuses on urban origins, early medi eval assembly and trade, and the development of coastal landscapes. He is PI of research projects where bioarchaeo logy, geoarchaeo logy, and environmental sciences are applied to the medi eval period. ORCID iD: 0000-0001-9202-2685.
