The BRICS Countries’ Bilateral Economic Relations, 2009 to 2019: Between Rhetoric and Reality

Abstract: After Brazil, Russia, India, and China (BRIC) started meeting in the BRIC countries format, and since 2011 with South Africa in the BRICS format, these countries’ leaders made several pledges for strengthening intra-BRICS economic cooperation.
