The bound-state Aharonov–Bohm effect around a cosmic string revisited

Abstract: In this article we observe that the self-adjoint extension of the Hamiltonian of a particle moving around a shielded cosmic string gives rise to a gravitational analogue of the bound state AharonovBohm effect.PACS numbers: 98.80. Cq,11.27.+d,03.65.Vf When a quantum particle is confined between two impenetrable concentric cylindrical walls, threaded by a magnetic flux tube along their common axis, its energy spectrum presents a dependence on the flux. This is the so-called bound state Aharonov-Bohm effect [1… Show more

“…[33][34][35][36][37][38][39]. The Dirac oscillator embedded in a cosmic string background has inspired a great deal of research in last years [40][41][42][43][44][45][46]. A cosmic string is a linear defect that change the topology of the medium when viewed globally.…”

“…The cosmic string is a linear defect that changes the topology of the medium. This field has been an appealing research field in the past years as not much is known in comparison with the ordinary Dirac equation in flat space [36][37][38][39][40][41]. From the field theory point of view, the cosmic string can be viewed as a consequence of symmetry breaking phase transition in the early Universe [42].…”
