Abstract

Abstract/Scope of Chapter This chapter presents an overview to the morphologic findings in normal and disease states in the bone marrow (BM). We begin with a discussion of the maturation and function of the normal marrow elements. The effects of microanatomical localization of hematopoietic elements in relation to specialized stromal cell types on promoting growth and maturation are considered.
