The Black Sea halacarid fauna (Halacaridae, Acari): Faunal comparison with the Mediterranean, Eastern North Atlantic, North Sea, and Baltic and reflection on its origin

Abstract: Forty-one halacarid species are recorded from the Black Sea basin, adjacent limans, deltas and river inlets. The genera and the number of species (in parentheses) are: Acarochelopodia (l), Actacarus (2), Agaue (l), Agauopsis (3), Anomalohalacarus (2), Arhodeoporus (l), Caspihalacarus (l), Copidognathides (1), Copidognathus (9), Halacarellus (6), Zsobactrus (2), Lohmannella (l), Porohalacarus (I), Porolohmannella (l), Rhombognathides (1), Rhombognathus (6), Soldanellonyx (l), and Thalassarachna (1).
