The bioactive compounds and microbial endophytes from brown seaweed as antibacterial for aquaculture disease management: A review

Abstract: Brown seaweed contain bioactive compounds such as flavonoids, steroids, triterpenoids, alkaloids, saponins, tannins that have antimicrobial potential. The use of brown seaweed extract in several studies has reported that brown seaweed extract has a capability to inhibit the activity of bacteria such as S. aureus and Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Klebsiella pneumoniae bacteria, these bacteria are bacteria that attack aquatic organisms such as fish.
