The interaction between thorium and human serum components was studied using difference ultraviolet spectroscopy (DUS), ultrafiltration and high-pressure-anion exchange chromatography (HPAEC) with external inductively conducted plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) analysis. Experimental data are compared with modelling results based on the law of mass action. Human serum transferrin (HSTf) interacts strongly with Th(IV), forming a ternary complex including two synergistic carbonate anions. This complex governs Th(IV) speciation under blood serum conditions. Considering the generally used Langmuir-type model, values of 1033.5 and 1032.5 were obtained for strong and weak sites, respectively. We showed that trace amounts of diethylene triamine pentaacetic acid (DTPA) cannot complex Th(IV) in the blood serum at equilibrium. Unexpectedly this effect is not related to the competition with HSTf but is due to the strong competition with major divalent metal ions for DTPA. However, Th-DTPA complex was shown to be stable for a few hours when it is formed before addition in the biological medium; this is related to the high kinetic stability of the complex. This makes DTPA a potential chelating agent for synthesis of 226Th-labeled biomolecules for application in targeted alpha therapy

Background: Contrary to the proven benefits of iron, few concerns in producing the oxidative stress is remained problematic. Objectives: The aim of the study was to evaluate the oxidative stress in the male Wistar rats fed bread supplemented with iron in different doses i.e., 35 (basic), 70 (two fold), 140 (four fold), and 210 mg/kg (six fold) with or without NaHCO3 (250 mg/kg). Methods: In this experimental study Iron, ceruloplasmin, ferritin, total iron binding capacity (TIBC), albumin, total protein, uric acid and plasma superoxide dismutase (SOD), glutathione peroxidase (GPX), catalase (CAT), malondialdehyde (MDA), and total antioxidant capacity (TAC), were evaluated in 30 rats at the first and last day of the experiment (day 30). In addition, phytic acid levels were detected in all baked breads. The data were analyzed by ANOVA and t test procedure though SPSS statistical software version 20. Results: Serum iron level in rats that received basic level of iron plus NaHCO3 decreased significantly in the last day of the trial. Higher level of serum iron was seen in rats that received iron twofold, fourfold and sixfold and rats that received iron fourfold plus NaHCO3. A DNS-sel, mint lehetséges támadásponttal való kölcsönhatást Ru(III)-szalán és Ru(II)-fenantrolin komplexek esetében vizsgáltuk.5. A spektrofluorimetriás módszer kötési állandók meghatározásához való használhatóságát citotoxikus redukált Schiff-bázis kumarin származékok és az albumin reakciójának vizsgálatával teszteltük. 6 3. IRODALMI ÁTTEKINTÉS A vizsgált fémionok koordinációs kémiájáról általábanAz általunk vizsgált komplexek központi fémionjai a platinafémek közé sorolhatóak, ez alól kivételt képez a földfémek közé tartozó gallium.Platinafémek alatt a 8.-10. csoport 5., ill. 6. periódusába tartozó elemeket értjük. Közvetlenül a vas, kobalt, nikkel hármas alatt helyezkednek el. Ezek név szerint a ruténium, ródium, palládium, azaz a könnyű platinafémek; és a nehéz platinafémek közé tartozó ozmium, irídium és platina. Előfordulásuk nem gyakori a földkéregben, elemi állapotban igen stabilisak, a környezeti hatásoknak ellenálló fémek.Periódusonként az első ebben a csoportban a Ru és az Os. Vegyületeikben maximum +8-as oxidációs állapotúak lehetnek, az ilyen Ru(VIII) vegyületek azonban nem stabilisak. Az Os legstabilabb oxidációs állapota a +4-es, jól ismertek az [OsX 6 ] 2-(X = F, Cl, Br, I) vegyületei. A Ru(IV) vegyületekben a fém könnyen Ru(III)-ionná, a stabilis formává redukálódik, ezek mind oktaéderes kis spinszámú vegyületek. A Ru +2-es oxidációs számmal is előfordulhat oktaéderes diamágneses komplexeket képezve, azonban ezek legtöbbször Ru(III)-ionná oxidálódnak. Megfelelő ligandumokkal mindkét fém stabilizálható +2-es állapotban, ehhez például -akceptor nitrogén-monoxid (NO), vagy  6 -arén,  5 -arenil ligandumokra van szükség. Szintén az oxidációs állapottól és a koordinálódó ligandumok természetétől függenek az egyes komplexek kinetikai tulajdonságai. Általában a nagyobb oxidációs állapotok inertebb komplexeket képeznek, ill. az Os analógok sokkal inertebbek, mint a megfelelő Ru-komplexek. A ligandum cseresebességek igen széles skálán (másodperc-év) változhatnak [11].A Rh-és Ir vegyületek leggyakrabban a +3-as oxidációs állapotban fordulnak elő. Lehetséges még a M(I) állapot -akceptor ligandumokkal stabilizálva, ill. léteznek karboxilát ligandumokkal áthidalt kétmagvú Rh(II)-komplexek, és Ir(IV) vegyületek is ismeretesek. A legjellemzőbb a [M(H 2 O) 6 ] 3+ forma, kis spinszámú, diamágneses, oktaéderes, kinetikailag igen inert komplexeket képeznek. A ligandum cseresebesség azonban nagyságrendekkel növelhető, ha [M 5 -Cp # )] (Cp # = (szubsztituált) ciklopentadienil anion származék) komplexet vizsgálunk.Általában a "soft" karakterű donoratomokkal képeznek nagyobb stabilitású komplexet [11,12].A 10. csoportba tartozik a Pd és a Pt. Előbbi maximum +4-es oxidációs állapotú lehet, de stabilis vegyületeiben Pd(II)-ként fordul elő. A Pt mind +4, mind +2 formában stabilis. Pt(II)-ionként síknégyzetes komplexeket képez.
