“…In this context, expressive writing is more brief and provides more exible time, space and privacy for the patients to express themselves freely. During expressive writing, participants reorganized their experience and feelings, hence allowed patients to disclose their private thoughts [22,23]. However, conventional expressive writing didn't have a speci c guide, participants' narration of their illness experiences was usually causal and it was di cult to explore deeper emotions and topics [24], so we conducted this invention with longer writing sessions (6 compared with normally 4 sessions) and more detailed writing guidance to solve the problems in previous research.…”
