The beginning of the movement of bottom sediments in an unsteady flow

Abstract: This article discusses the problems of determining the friction parameter and non-eroding conditions in a wave flow are considered from the standpoint of an approach using a critical dynamic speed. In the first stage of research, the question of the formation of an unsteady turbulent boundary layer is substantiated. Because of the research, dependences were obtained for the most important value from the point of view of sediment transport - the friction parameter. Based on the data of these measurements, a plo… Show more

“…Our experiments in an axial flow pump confirm the linear dependence of the wear ΔG of the parts of the flow path on time T. The concentration of solid particles in the flow should directly relate to the wear rate of the streamlined parts of pumping units. The results obtained at constant values φ=-30; n0=1020 rpm; Q=0.297м 3 /s; and dср=0.34 mm, confirmed the rectilinear regularity of the dependence ΔG = f (p) only for such a fixed streamlined part as a straightening vane [1][2][3]. The total wear of the impeller blade is:…”

“…According to our measurements, the flow of traction sediments in the section of the Amudarya River in the head part of the Karshi Main Channel was 10...28%, in the area of the head part the Amu-Bukhara Main Channel 5...37%. In the calculations, approximate values of the water consumptions of traction sediments in the intra-annual context can be taken: during the flood period -15 ... 20 and during the low water period -20 ... 27% of the flow of suspended sediments [12][13][14][15][16][17][18][19][20].…”
