The limitations of teachers in vocational schools have been discussed and debated. This situation is contrary to professional teachers and teacher quality. Thus, vocational school administrators have to have standards to become vocational teachers. The experience of novice teachers is constructed to provide several information and input to vocational education providers. Qualitative research with a descriptive analysis approach was carried out. A total of 11 vocational teachers who are beginners in their careers (1-3 years of teaching) were selected to be participants. Open coding and axial coding were used in data analysis. The findings in the study that teachers' experiences are identified in four aspects, namely understanding, activities, problems, and the use of technology in their work. The important finding is that increasing the age of work experience increases social and professional competence and the age of beginner vocational teachers to have better technology closeness.

A few months before immigrating to New Zealand, an Afrikaans‐English bilingual woman was interviewed in South Africa about her expectations of her sociolinguistic life in her new country. Fifteen years later she was interviewed again, in New Zealand. This article tells the story of her pre‐departure expectations and desires, and her retrospective meaning making of the experiences she had lived since her arrival in New Zealand. This longitudinal narrative study focuses on her use of South African English in the host country, particularly in the community and the workplace, and pays attention to its reception by others in these contexts. The study draws on a cognitive‐developmental model of identity integration to frame the analysis of interview data from a narrative perspective. It does so by using short story analysis (Barkhuizen, 2016). Short stories are extracts of interview data in story form and are analyzed for their content and varying scales of context. Three short stories are analyzed in this article. They show how the participant's English is used and received in New Zealand and what effect this has on her life and identity as an immigrant in the country over time.

<p class="0abstract">Online media-assisted learning is becoming a necessity at this time, where users have a level of interest in using mobile devices. YouTube has been used by several universities as a learning medium that complements conceptual understanding. This study develops learning media in the curriculum of maintenance of chassis and power (MCP) and measures the perspective of students after online-based MCP media is applied. Researchers involved material experts, media experts, and expert practitioners in improving the quality of MCP media and involved 163 respondents as users to assess the feasibility of MCP media, thus determining the media to use YouTube is acceptable. The results confirm that all aspects of material understanding, language use, benefits and graphics on MCP media are recommended according to YouTube usage. Researchers summarize that the online media "YouTube" is effective as a learning methodology and relevant to user needs. The involvement of experts is important in the acceptance and suitability of quality media. It is recommended that practical or abstract competencies can be mastered easily using online media, YouTube.</p>
