“…While the physical and mental health of people living with HIV have been well-examined in the literature, social well-being remains understudied, especially among Black gay, bisexual, and other sexual minority men living with HIV, referred to herein as Black sexual minority men living with HIV. Studying social well-being is particularly important among Black sexual minority men living with HIV as they face oppression at the intersection of racism, White supremacy, homophobia/heterosexism, and HIV-related stigma (Crenshaw, 1989; Hong et al, 2023; Kipke et al, 2020; Mosley et al, 2021; Nelson, 2020).
