The Association Between Sexual Orientation, BMI, Obesity Diagnosis, and Provider Recommendation for Weight Management

Abstract: of pregnancy take a daily supplement containing 0.4 to 0.8 mg (400-800 μg) of folic acid to prevent neural tube defects (JAMA 2017;317:183-189). However, folic acid supplementation may help achieve other important reproductive goals. Dietary folate intake of less than 250 μg/d may substantially reduce the per-cycle probability of pregnancy. Supplemental folic acid may diminish or eliminate that risk, even in North American cohort where the food supply is fortified with folic acid.-LAL)
