The assessment of the economic risks level of sugar beet growing for the farm economy

Abstract: Abstract:The risk rate of sugar beet growing was analyzed by using the algorithm for modelling and generating the random numbers based on the conditions determined in advance and the statistical distribution of sugar beets yield, the total costs, earnings and gross profit. on the bases of results of the analysis of economic risks of sugar beet production in years 1995-2009, it follows that the sugar beet growing in all regions is highly risky in the czech republic. The subsidy SAPS and ToP-UP per 1 hectare of … Show more

“…In this way we evaluated the efficiency of Italian energy policy, assessing if the PV incentive was reasonable compared to the goal of Second Conto Energia. For this purpose, as well as in other studies [67][68][69], the breakeven point has been calculated, that is, the point where revenues are equal to costs.…”

“…The crop has sugar production as its main use and due to the growing demand for clean fuels, sugar beet is considered to be a viable alternative to make biofuel (Finkenstadt, 2014). The global sugar (sucrose) production is estimated at 158 million tons, with 30% of it from sugar beet, sown primarily in European countries and the United States, and at a lower scale in Canada, Chile and Colombia (Pulkrábek et al, 2012). The fresh beet root yields are 50 to 60 t ha -1 with an average sugar concentration in the root of 18.7% and a production of 9 to 11 t ha -1 of sugar (FAO, 2016).…”
