The Assessment of Reliability of Cognitive Evoked Potential in Normal Person

Abstract: ObjectiveTo evaluate intra-tester reliability of P300 more precisely, this study was designed. Event-related potential (ERP) is the result of endogenous brain response following cognitive stimulus. The P300 component of the human ERP is a positive wave with a latency of 300 ms or greater. Our purpose of this study was to estimate reliability of P300 latency and amplitude with 30 normal persons without head injury, as well as to set up them as the reference values in the event that they would be found to be hig… Show more

“…The latency of P300 is often used to reflect short-term memory, selective attention, and reaction speed, the ability to process events, and cognitive processing[ 27 ], and the amplitude of P300 reflects the resources invested in the brain when it senses incoming stimulus information, namely, the active control of attention and the ability of information processing. The decrease of P300 amplitude and the prolongation of latency indicate the decline of cognitive ability, and P300 latency is more sensitive to the occurrence of early CRCI than P300 amplitude response, so P300 amplitude and latency can be used as biological markers of cognitive physiological mechanism[ 28 , 29 ]. The present study was completed by auditory stimulation under the oddball paradigm, and the latency of P300 was significantly shortened and the amplitude of P300 was significantly increased in CRC patients receiving 3 mo of CBT combined with exercise intervention, and the difference became more significant with the duration of the intervention.…”

“…In the second auditory ERP, there was a signi cant correlation between C CL and MMSE place, between C CL and MMSE recall, between Cz and MMSE total, between Cz and MMSE recall, between C IL and MMSE place, between C IL and MMSE recall, and between C IL and MoCA abstraction. (Table 13,14,15,16,17,18,19,20) In the rst visual ERP (latency), there was a signi cant correlation between Cz and MMSE (sum) and between C IL and MMSE (sum), attention & calculation, language, MoCA (sum), visuospatial and executive (MoCA), and attention (MoCA). In the second visual ERP, there was a signi cant correlation between C IL and visuospatial and executive (MoCA) and between P IL and attention (MoCA).…”
