The Arithmetic Coding and Hybrid Discrete Wavelet and Cosine Transform Approaches in Image Compression

Abstract: Image compression is one of the data compression types applied to digital images in order to reduce their high cost for storage and/or transmission. Image compression algorithms may take the benefit of visual sensitivity and statistical properties of image data to deliver superior results in comparison with generic data compression schemes, which are used for other digital data. In the first approach, the input image is divided into blocks, each of which is 16 x 16, 32 x 32, or 64 x 64 pixels. The blocks are c… Show more

“…Experiment 3 set is the experimental simulation parameters; take the weighted wavelet weights as a 0 = 0:9, a 1 = 0:05 , and a 2 = 0:05, the number of training samples for each type of face is 6, and the number of test samples is 4. As shown in Figure 4, it mainly studies that when the dimension of each type of face is different, the recognition rate accuracy of the proposed algorithm and two traditional algorithms is compared [19,20].…”

“…Kulkarni et al [13] presented an MRI compression method using IWT and a lossless compression technique considering the ROI and non-ROI. Salman and Rafea [29] proposed two methods. In the first method, the input image is split into blocks.…”

“…Therefore, local firms in host countries get the opportunity to enhance productivity and production efficiency and join the global value chain. To be more precise, inward FDI flows accelerate exports (Aitken at el., 1997; Nguyen, 2020b). It means that only the productive firms choose to serve in the foreign markets via FDI when less productive firms self-select domestically-oriented markets (Helpman at el., 2004).…”
