“…The special architecture and mechanism of T-DSSCs allow them to perform exceptionally well in overcoming the disadvantages of cosensitization. 134–137 Until now, only few studies on tandem devices based on porphyrin dyes have been reported. 119,138 Hence, more research is desired in this area in the future.…”

“…Porphyrin dyes and metal-free organic dyes were successfully employed in T-DSSCs by virtue of their perfectly complementary absorption spectra, with the highest PCE reported up to 14.64% . In addition, during our previous exploratory work on tandem devices, the parallel T-DSSCs (PT-DSSCs) with a doubled-sided Pt electrode, which are composed of a ruthenium dye N719 -based top cell and a phenothiazine organic dye PTZ-15 -based bottom cell, were manufactured and exhibited a high photoelectric conversion efficiency of 10.85%, which was higher than those of N719 (9.28%) and PTZ-15 (3.49%) under the same condition, and confirmed the suitability of ruthenium dyes and metal-free organic dyes in T-DSSCs. Nonetheless, due to the complex purification and expensive cost of ruthenium dyes and porphyrin dyes, , it is clear that all of them are not suitable for large-scale deployment in research concerning cosensitization and T-DSSCs if the purpose of promoting the industrialization of DSSCs is to be attained.…”
