“…This instrument had originally been developed in response to a multidisciplinary guideline developed recently for somatic screening and for administering lifestyle interventions for patients with SMI (van der Kellen 2010; Meijel 2015b). It was compiled on the basis of several international instruments for monitoring the side effects of antipsychotic medications (de Boer et al 2013;Day et al 1995;Jordan et al 2004;Morrison et al 2000;Van Harten 2004) and supplemented with items based on recommendations from the Dutch multidisciplinary guidelines. A draft version of the instrument was reviewed in several rounds by a Delphi study consisting of expert mental health nurses, nurse practitioners, psychiatrists, and physicians working on somatic care for psychiatric patients.…”
