Abstract: Alpha-1-acid glycoprotein (AGP) is a major acute phase glycoprotein with five asparaginyl-linked complex oligosaccharide chains accounting for approximately 45% of its 42 kilodalton molecular weight.The physiological role of AGP is poorly understood however it has been demonstrated to have immunomodulatory properties [l].
