The Anti-Inflammatory and Free Radical Scavenging Activities of Bio-Inspired Nano Magnesium Oxide

Abstract: This work includes green synthesis of magnesium oxide nanoparticles (MgO NPs) by using Alstoniascholaris, which is indigenous to many countries such as China, Australia, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, and India. Its pharmacological activities include antidiabetic, antioxidant, anticancer, analgesic, antitussive, and anti-diarrheal activities. In this study, the antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activities of bio-inspired magnesium oxide nanoparticles, MgO NPs, were investigated. MgO NPs were prepared by using the leaf e… Show more

“…Our study is strongly supported by previous studies, which explained that nano-fertilizers minimize plant stress and produce reactive oxygen species (ROS) that serve as a defense mechanism against biochemical changes in the plant material. 3,4,33,34 The presence of metals such as magnesium and zinc, serving as cofactors for enzymes, signaling molecules, and transcription factors, may impact the antioxidant capacity, as noted. Overall, the use of ZnMgO 2 NPs led to enrichment of Zn 2+ and Mg 2+ ions, acting as cofactors that accelerate plant growth and development.…”

“…Additionally, these nanoparticles have been found to possess noteworthy antioxidant characteristics, so further exploration into the antioxidant capabilities of synthesized magnesium oxide nanoparticles should involve conducting in vivo or intracellular experiments. The anti-inflammatory properties of MgO are very important, and preliminary results in the field of inhibition of protein denaturation have shown their importance [292].…”

“…Group-II were treated as negative control and Group-III were administered indomethacin as standard. Ethanolic and aqueous extracts given to the rats of Group-IV and Group-IX (Table 9, 10, 11) [23] . Here, 100 and 500 ppm Mgo nanoparticles in 0.3 ml egg albumin and 2.9 ml of phosphate-buffered saline.…”
