Burnout syndrome is a destructive physical, psychological and mental symptom that is caused by doing work that is monotonous and pressing continuously. This research was conducted because there was a phenomenon that occurred to BRI Bank Gajah Mada Denpasar branch employees, especially in the frontliner section, where there were employees who experienced burnout. This study aims to analyze role stress in mediating the effect of workload on burnout. The number of samples used was 81 employees using the saturated sample technique. Data collection in this study was carried out by interview and questionnaire methods. The data analysis technique used in this research is Path Analysis and Sobel Test. Based on the results of the analysis it was found that workload had a positive and significant effect on burnout and role stress, role stress had a positive and significant effect on burnout, and role stress partially mediated the effect of workload on burnout. The practical implication of this research is to serve as material for consideration and input for the leaders of BRI Bank Gajah Mada Denpasar Branch to overcome employee burnout by paying attention to workload and role stress.
