This research aims to identify the process types of the transitivity system from the reading passages and conversational texts of the EFL textbook entitled Modul Pengayaan for seventh-grade junior high school students, which is composed based on the implementation of Kurikulum 2013. The present study employed a descriptive qualitative research design. The data of this study are obtained from reading texts and conversational texts (text dialogues). The collected data of the transitivity process presented in sentences and clauses were analyzed using Halliday's transitivity system. The results show that all the process types of transitivity system with 35 processes were found in the reading passages and conversational texts of the textbook, namely: material process with 5 data (14.28%), mental process with 12 data (34.28%), verbal process with 3 data (8.57%), relational process with 13 data (37.14%), behavioral process with 1 data (2.85%), and existential process also with 1 data (2.85%). All the types of transitivity processes have been presented adequately based on Halliday's theory, although the two types of transitivity process (behavioral and existential process) almost have come from ignorance. Therefore, this study suggests that the textbook designer and material developer produce diverse clauses and sentences by using the six process types of transitivity in English written texts, especially in the reading passages and conversational texts.

The purpose of this study is to focus on the portrayal of child sexual harassment experiences in the chapter "Baby" of the book "The Mercurial Mr. Bhutto and Other Stories" using transitivity processes and their components in order to provide a descriptive understanding of the narrative. Child Sexual behavior is directed against a child when inappropriate or coercive usually before the age of consent, it can cause physical and psychological harm. The methodology comprised a qualitative investigation by manually applying Halliday's Transitivity Analysis to examine the Process, Participants, and Circumstantial Elements of each clause following a descriptive analysis. The result reveals that the most used Transitivity Processes, Participants, and Circumstantial Elements are Material, Goal, and Location. Using this research as a paradigm, future research in literature should investigate transitivity analysis for more understanding of sexual harassment narratives. To sum up, this study closes a significant research gap by using transitivity analysis to offer a descriptive comprehension of the narrative of sexual harassment.

The effectiveness of using language in a brochure is not something that easy to interpret. Information and understanding must be clear and concrete. A good and correct brochure from Systemic Functional Linguistics (SFL) perspective is objectivity that can be understood in terms of appropriate content. The application of SFL in daily activities may simplify the meaning of text sentences so that people could decipher the meaning carefully and minimize misunderstanding the meaning of the related texts. The research was intended to: (1) identify and analyze a transitivity system in the tourism destination brochure of Dinas Kebudayaan, Kepemudaan Olahraga dan Pariwisata Kabupaten Sumenep (2) find out the dominance of the process type in the ideational metafunction in the language used in the brochure. This research was supported by the theory of Halliday and Matthiessen (2004). This study used a qualitative description to develop a research index in terms of analyzing, describing, and agglomerating the existing brochure at the Gili Labak tourism destination, Sumenep, Madura. The results found that transitivity systems have a role to make meanings in a clause and the relational process was the dominant type of process involved in the brochures. This research is expected to be a reference for further research by discussing Systemic Functional Linguistics thus it becomes the data that has solutions for the application of language that parses through processes in ideational metafunction.
