A previous communication (4) reported enzyme studies on the liver tissue in glycogen-storage disease (von Gierke's disease), which failed to demonstrate any definite abnormality in liver amylase activity in this disease of carbohydrate metabolism. Nevertheless, abnormal blood amylase activity has often been reported in the common diseases of carbohydrate metabolism-diabetes and liver disease.…”
