The allometric growth and condition index comparison of white shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei) from fishpond and juata laut waters, Tarakan (Indonesia)

Abstract: This research aims to analyze the allometric growth and condition index of white shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei) from fishpond and Juata Laut waters, Tarakan (Indonesia). The study was conducted for 3 months, from January to March 2020. The objective method was descriptive quantitative with a case study approach. The determination of the research area by using purposive sampling from fishpond and the catches of trawl fishermen from Juata Laut waters, Tarakan (Indonesia). A sampling of white shrimp (L.vannamei) u… Show more

“…The sex ratio percentage between male and female shrimp is 1:2. According to [7] explaining the research on L. vannamei obtained in ponds in Tarakan city, the male and female sex ratio was 1:3 while L. vannamei obtained in the sea waters of Tarakan city obtained a male and female sex ratio of 1.68 : 1. Research by [22] ratio comparison sex between male and female P. merguiensis shrimp in Cilacap waters is 1: 1.61.…”

“…Length-weight relationship was obtained by using data on total length and total weight of male and female vaname shrimp P.merguiensis. The length-weight relationship formula according to [9] ; [10] ; [7] ; [11] ; [12] is used to obtain a comprehensive allometric growth estimate (not individuals used using the condition index formula). The length-weight relationship was calculated by the allometric growth formula used by [13].…”
