“…Our results suggest an even more pronounced anticipation of puberty in boys, and are in agreement with data from American children, in which the appearance of secondary sexual characteristics also occurred earlier (Herman-Giddens et al, 2012). In Thailand, there was no secular trend in genital development; however, adolescents appear to be reaching the PH2 stage slightly later than has been shown in earlier studies (Kiatsopit et al, 2015). In Denmark, the estimated average age of reaching the PH2 stage also appears to have increased between 1991 and 2006, although it has decreased in the PH4 and PH5 F I G U R E 3 Median ages (percentiles 25 and 75) for Tanner stages for boys and girls aged 9-14 years old according to type of school and year of study.…”

“… Kiatsopit et al (2015) report that a14-yearold boys (in mean) presented G4-P4 pubertal staging. The results of the present study corroborate these findings as boys also presented G4-P4 staging at 14 years of age, indicating the swim training in which the study volunteers were involved did not affect pubertal development.…”
