Background: Maintaining the functional integrity of primary teeth is important, as these teeth are integral in vital functions such as mastication, speech development, and space maintenance for permanent teeth; hence, premature loss of primary teeth can affect a child’s quality of life. Various restorative materials are available to restore the function of grossly decayed teeth. Stainless steel crowns and zirconia crowns are widely used in pediatric dentistry; however, there are certain disadvantages associated with these materials. Recently introduced BioFlx crowns provide acceptable esthetics with a conservative approach. Nevertheless, there is a lack of evidence regarding their strength and clinical acceptability. Finite element analysis measures the physical response of teeth and assesses the stress generation, which is important to estimate the integrity of the restorations and crowns. Purpose: The aim of this in vitro study was to evaluate and compare stress generation in primary teeth restored with zirconia and BioFlx crowns using finite element analysis. Methods: Models of extracted teeth restored with zirconia and BioFlx crowns were used for the study. The finite element analysis of these models was carried out through Analysis of Systems (ANSYS) software. The models were subjected to a simulated occlusal loading force of 245 N. Results: Von Mises stress generated in BioFlx crowns along with underlying dentin was much less compared to that which was generated in zirconia crowns. Conclusion: Restoring the functional integrity of carious teeth is essential. BioFlx crowns can be used as full coverage restorations and can be a suitable alternative to zirconia crowns and traditional stainless steel crowns.

Background: Full-mouth rehabilitation of multiple caries can improve the quality of life. The selection of appropriate restorations on caries and teeth that have undergone post-endodontic treatment is critical to treatment success and enhances the quality of life. Purpose: This case report presents a full-mouth rehabilitation of a patient with multiple caries. Case: A 30-year-old man complained of multiple caries and pain in the posterior mandibular tooth, especially when eating and drinking (cold and hot), which interfered with his activities. The clinical examination found caries in teeth 16, 22, 24, 25, 26, 27, 36, 37, and 38 and a retained root of tooth 46. The percussion and biting tests were negative, while the sensibility test was positive. Case Management: Severe caries found in tooth 37 was managed with endodontic treatment and an indirect onlay restoration with lithium disilicate-based material. The retained tooth of 46 was extracted and restored with a partial denture. The other teeth, 16, 22, 24, 25, 26, 27, 36, 37, and 38, were treated by direct composite restoration. Holistic treatment was performed on all the problem teeth to support oral hygiene and was followed by dental health education. Conclusion: Full-mouth rehabilitation is essential for oral hygiene and can improve the quality of life. Education on maintaining oral hygiene is a must for protecting oral health.

Diastema is a common finding in many populations, resulting in poor aesthetics and increasing selfconsciousness when smiling. The diastema closure can be done conservatively without the use of braces by employing a variety of alternative treatment techniques, such as direct composite veneers, indirect composite veneers, porcelain laminate veneers, all-ceramic crowns, and metal-ceramic crowns. With the running trend amongst the youth of desiring faster aesthetic results in a stipulated timeframe, it has become a tedious job for the endodontist to satisfy these demands. In this time of crisis, a composite resin buildup offers a one-stop solution to all the vivid demands of the patients. This case report presents a less cumbersome procedure for the correction of midline diastemas by simple usage of stainless steel sectional matrix bands and anterior transparent crowns, which have proved beneficial for correcting these defects. To achieve an ideal smile and superior aesthetics, the usage of direct restorable composites onto the tooth surfaces has proven beneficial, providing the ultimate durability, pleasing aesthetics, and complete patient satisfaction.
