“…22 Heart signals were recorded from each subject by a digital data acquisition system. In brief, the system consists of piezoelectric contact transducers (PPG sensor model 3, OHK Medical Devices), an ECG sensor (model EKG-BTA, Vernier Software & Technology), a preamplifier with high input impedance and a linear frequency range of 1-4 KHz, a 16-bit analog-to-digital converter (model PMD-1608FS, Measurement Computing Corp.), and a recording software written in Matlab version 6.5 (The Mathworks Inc.), running on a mobile computer.…”

“…The Vigileo/ FloTrac system (Edwards Lifesciences, Irvine, CA, USA) uses a proprietary software algorithm to determine CO by analyzing the arterial waveform, and it has the advantage of being able to be used with any arterial catheter in any location. Although software upgrades have improved the accuracy of the values obtained from this device, 35 some limitations exist when using the algorithm in critically ill patients. 36 The LiDCO Plus system (LiDCO, Cambridge, UK) also uses pulse contour analysis to determine SV Endpoints of Resuscitation and CO, but to estimate SV, it uses a lithium-based dye dilution technique, which has been shown to be as reliable as other thermodilution methods.…”
