TGA investigation and morphological properties study of nanocrystalline cellulose/ag‐nanoparticles nanocomposites for catalytic control of oxidative polymerization of aniline

Abstract: Polyaniline (PANI) and PANI/nanocrystalline cellulose (NCC)/silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) nanocomposites have been prepared via in situ oxidative polymerization of aniline in the presence of NCC and AgNPs in green mediate using sugar beet leaf extracts. A series of nanocomposites has been synthesized by varying the concentrations of AgNPs (0, 1, 4, and 8%) along with 2 wt% of NCC. The control on oxidative polymerization for aniline has been studied using fabricated nanocomposites as catalysts. Various analysis … Show more

“…The broadness of the peaks indicate the small size of the AgNPs synthesized. The interplanar spacing ( d hkl ) values (2.349, 2.040, 1.437, 1.239, and 1.176 Å) were obtained from the XRD spectra of AgNPs , and they are in agreement with the standard silver values. On the other hand, the diffraction peaks of PU/NCC/AgNP nanocomposites exhibit four new peaks at 2 θ = 33.8°, 42.5°, 54.8°, and 85.5°, which confirms the successful complexation of NCC/AgNPs on the PU surface .…”

“…These conductive materials can be used for coating non-conductive fabrics to impart conductive properties. Polyaniline grafted chitosan or cellulose copolymers were prepared by the chemical in situ polymerization of aniline while AgNPs were synthesized by chemical reduction method and incorporated into the polymer matrix or by in situ polymerization of aniline monomer containing silver nitrate [35][36][37][38]. Equation 1 shows the reaction between aniline and silver nitrate.…”
