Textile design engineering within the product shape

Abstract: I wish to acknowledge the time and expertise that was contributed to this body of research by members of academia, industry, and research institutes in the field of textile design engineering. Survey and case study participants provided intelligent, thoughtful observations and opinions about this design process, and were generous in sharing their experiences with engineered designing. I also want to acknowledge the support of the College of Textiles, and TATM department for funding my graduate studies, and pro… Show more

“…Carroll and Kincade (2007) integrated the AD Framework in combination with other models to develop a framework for inclusive apparel product development for working women with disabilities. Similarly, Chapman and Little (2012) integrated the AD Framework with other design process models to develop a process model for engineered textiles. Finally, in a case study investigation of their 1992 conceptual model, Kallal and Lamb (1993) added industry practice considerations for product development to the integrated FEA Model and AD Framework.…”

“…Including yarns that shrink with heat and adding a heat-treatment process can produce a range of shrinkage and create fabrics with 3-D surfaces (Chapman, 2008). Using yarns with different degrees of shrinkage and heat-treatment is an effective way to create seamless-shaped knitted fabrics (Anderson, 2004).…”

“…5,6 The development of ink-jet printing ink has become a research hotspot in the fine chemicals field. 7,8 The dispensable technology of digital ink-jet printing development and the performances of ink-jet printing ink not only determines the effect of printing products, but also determines the shape of the nozzle drop characteristics and the stability of the printing system. [9][10][11] Ink-jet printing ink is usually composed of colorant, organic solvents, surfactants, a pH regulator, a catalyst and other additives.…”
