Tests of prestressed cellular slabs :

Abstract

This report presents a summary of the findings in the study of the properties of twenty nine 5>-by 5-ft prestressed cellular slabs tested under concentrated loads.Deflections, strains, crack patterns, and loadcarrying capacities were recorded. The data reported herein indicate that the primary mode of failure is diagonal tension, that suitable jointing material between the units is necessary, that web reinforcement of the units is required to increase the load-carrying capacity of the slabs, and that the proper selection of jointing material is important.
