Testing on Noise Level Prevailing at Motor Vehicle Parking Lots and Numeral Simulation of Its Dispersion

Abstract: In Vilnius and in other bigger towns the noise generated by mobile sources accounts for up to 90 % of the total noise level in a town. A high noise level is detected at motor vehicle parking lots. To measure this noise level, testing was carried out at guarded parking lots which were divided into certain types. One lot of each type was chosen for testing. The number of measuring spots was conditioned by the size of a lot. The data obtained during testing reveal that the highest noise level is generated not at … Show more

“…Enhancing the acoustic absorption properties in this spectral range can be exploited in the design of non-structural acoustic components (such as quiet brick pavements) intended for parking lots. Indeed, as reported in the study conducted by Baltrenas et al [69], the noise levels in the parking areas (movements of vehicles maneuvering within the space, closing of doors and boots, starting or revving, and idle engines) reach the maximum values (close to 90 dB) in the frequency range from 50 Hz to 500 Hz.…”

“…Identifying a sound source is not an easy task because of the variance in the sounds. In recent times, various authors have proposed methods for the automatic identification of sounds using algorithms based on machine learning [11,12]. In this work, a procedure is developed to automatically identify sound events in an underground garage.…”

“…daugiausia triukšmo sukelia sunkvežimiai, autobusai, sportiniai automobiliai, motociklai (Lippa, Šapauskas 2000).didžiausias triukšmo lygis vyrauja nuo 6 iki 8 valandos ryto ir nuo 5 iki 8 valandos vakaro. Šiuo metu transporto srautas yra intensyviausias (Baltrėnas et al 2004).žinomas teiginys, kad norint pašalinti neigiamas pasekmes geriausia likviduoti jų priežastis. deja, šiandieninis žmogus neįsivaizduoja normalaus gyvenimo be nuosavo automobilio.…”
