Because the traditional roasting-leaching-electrowinning zinc hydrometallurgy process has a small sulfuric acid sales radius and a high inventory pressure, the process of direct leaching zinc concentrate is gaining popularity. but the pressurized leaching process is a high-pressure condition, which requires strict equipment material and high safety requirements. Furthermore, the atmospheric leaching efficiency is low and generally introduces impurities and chloride ions, which increase the cost of subsequent decontamination. Therefore, a new environmentally friendly hydrometallurgy extraction method of zinc was proposed: an atmospheric pressure medium temperature sulfuric acid curing-leaching process. In an open-air condition, zinc sulfide concentrate was cured with sulfuric acid at different acid-to-ore ratios and heated to 220?C~260?C for a different time, then leaching the cured product. The effects of temperature, curing time, acid-to-ore ratio and sulfuric acid concentration on the leaching ratio of zinc (hZn) were studied. The results demonstrated that hZncould reach as high as 98.23% under the optimized conditions of temperature 240?C, curing time 2.5 hours, acid-to-ore ratio 1.4:1 and sulfuric acid concentration 60 wt.%. The leaching residue ratio is 6%, with silicate accounting for the majority of it. The kinetic results support the shrinking core model, which is controlled by an interface chemical reaction with an apparent activation energy of 43.158 kJ/mol.

The article presents the results of thermodynamic and experimental research on the processing of cinders from the firing of Shalkiya deposit lead-zinc ore tailings with the production of siliceous ferroalloys. Thermodynamic modeling carried out using the HSC-6.0 complex based on the Gibbs energy minimization principle showed that the interaction occur with the formation of CaSiO3, FeSiO3, MgSiO3, K2OˑSiO2, FeSi, Fe5Si3, SiC, Fe3Si, Si, SiOg, FeSi2.33, FeSi2, CaSi, Zn, Zng, Pb, Pbg; an increase in the iron amount in the system allows increasing the silicon extraction degree into the alloy at 1800°C to 76%, to reduce the silicon concentration in the alloy from 41 to 24%; FS25 grade ferrosilicon formed at 1752-1867°C in the presence of 88-100% iron, and FS45 grade ferrosilicon – at 1863-1900°C and 20-22.4% iron. Electric melting of a charge containing 63.83% calcined cinder of tailings, 19.15% coke, and 17.02% steel chips allows to obtain FS45 grade ferrosilicon (44.1-43.9% Si) with the extraction of 69.7% silicon and sublimates with the content of 32-38% zinc and lead. The results obtained allow complex processing of lead-zinc sulfide ore tailings with the extraction of not only non-ferrous metals, but also silicon in the ferroalloy.

Los relaves mineros almacenados en presas de jales generalmente contienen sulfuros como la galena (PbS) y esfalerita (ZnS). Para evitar que sean liberados el Pb y el Zn por el interperismo, se propuso el sistema (TU) (CH4N2S)-EDTA (C10H16N2O8) para llevar acabo la lixiviación de estos metales. Previamente se realizó la caracterización de la muestra por las técnicas de DRX, MEB-EDS e ICP. De acuerdo a los resultados experimentales se obtuvo una máxima disolución de Zn de 19.43 % con 0.3M de TU en ausencia de EDTA, mientras que para el Pb se alcanzó un 43.44 % de disolución con 0.3M de TU y 0.0067 M de EDTA, manteniendo los siguientes parámetros constantes: pH (1.5), temperatura (30°C), tiempo de reacción (60 min) y tamaño de partícula (37 μm).
