At present, tourism is counted among those industries which have gained global attention due to rapid growth. Hence, a constant diversification in terms of destination is needed in tourism development. The recent trends of industry highlight the demand of alternative tourism types, among which nature-related tourism appears to be an emerging concept. In this regard, the present article investigates the impact of economic conditions and sustainable rural development on the sustainability of tourism development in China. The current research has gathered secondary data from the World Bank from 1981 to 2020. The quartile autoregressive distributed lag model has been applied to test the association between the variables. The results revealed that GDP, inflation, FDI, exchange rate, energy use, gross savings, and sustainable rural development have a significant and positive association with the sustainability of tourism development in China. Findings offer managerial implications recommending the local government to focus on the sustainability of rural development and economic conditions that may lead to the implementation of tourism-related development projects. This study also guides the policymakers in establishing policies related to tourism development using different economic conditions and sustainable rural development.

Financial inclusion is fundamental for increasing the nation’s performance and green economy has emerged as one of the dominant factors to ecological sustainability, but how will these two factors connect? This research analyzes the correlation between the two in the case of China, which is undergoing a transformation to a green economy, using state-level statistics from 2008 to 2020 to evaluate the connection between financial inclusion and the green economy. By taking into account the fast-expanding technology banking system, as well as the application of the minimum distance to the weak efficient frontier framework (MinDw), a comprehensive assessment of financial inclusion is created, as is an assessment of green economic productivity. The findings show that the expansion of financial inclusion may contribute to increased green economic proficiency, which is primarily achieved via the tightening of credit restrictions on carbon emitting companies. The results have more consequences for the implementation of a financial development strategy and the maintenance of healthy associations between the state, banking institutions, and businesses.

Dynamic connectedness of green bond with financial markets of European countries under OECD economies

This paper examines the dynamic connectedness between green bonds and OECD financial markets of European countries. The study is conducted on daily price of green bonds and selected European stock markets from January 27, 2015, to August 4, 2021. Top ten European countries namely Luxembourg, Switzerland, Norway, Denmark, Germany, Netherlands, Iceland, Austria, Sweden, and Belgium are included within the OECD economies. The study uses Diebold and Yilmaz and Barunik & Krehlic tests to examine the connectedness between the economies and green bonds in short, medium, and long term. Result exhibits volatility across all frequency cycles. Brussel Stock Exchange and Euronext Amsterdam are identified as high-risk markets in the OECD European market. Evidence emerging from this study advocate the inclusion of green bonds in these financial markets for shorter time periods only. Results from this study are expected to have practical implications for portfolio managers, investors, and market regulators, suggesting incorporation of green bonds in investor portfolio for efficient diversification of risk.
