Abstract: Bachman's sparrows (Peucaea aestivalis) are an obligate southern open pine forest species linked to disturbance regimes (e.g., fire, windthrow) that reduce canopy cover and promote herbaceous groundcover needed for nesting, foraging, and concealment from predators.
