Abstract:This section on terrestrial microwave communications begins by considering free‐space propagation and the effects of terrain, atmosphere, and precipitation on propagation. Multipath fading due to ground reflection or atmospheric refraction is described with a statistical model. Diversity and adaptive equalization are shown to mitigate the effects of multipath fading on digital radio performance. Frequency allocations and planning are discussed, including the effects of interference. Components of a digital rad… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
