Ternary Diffusion and Onsager's Reciprocity Relations in Aqueous ZnCl₂ + KCl and CdCl₂ + KCl Revisited

Abstract

We report on e.m.f. data in the ternary electrolyte systems ZnCl2 + KCl + H2O and CdCl2 + KCl + H2O. In conjunction with diffusion data reported previously, these results enable a reassessment of a previous analysis of Onsager's reciprocity relations for ternary diffusion in these systems. The results eliminate contradictions to these relations observed in previous work.
